We've been working hard this fall season.

I'd hate to see all the hard work diminish with the holidays just before winter conditioning.

As a speed coach who works with lots of athletes and teams, I understand what happens when we take an extended period of time off.

Our reaction times suffer, we lose our rhythm, and it takes longer to get back to peak performance when winter conditioning starts.

Since working with Virginia Wesleyan's lacrosse team all fall, I've created this two-month training program exclusive for VWU to keep y'all in peak performance through winter.

Stay ready. Stay fast. Stay ahead.

Be at your best for January

This 6-week program will focus on strength and conditioning, dodging and transition skills, first step quickness, and decreased reaction times.

  1. Strength and conditioning: Build the foundation of being an athlete, amplifying your current playing skills to improve your game on the field, where it counts most.
  2. Reduce risk of Injury: Reduce the risk of injuries commonly associated with high-intensity contact sports through targeted exercises and strategies for enhanced conditioning.
  3. Dodging and transition skills: Develop the explosive speed and agility needed to beat defenders one-on-one, create scoring opportunities, and dominate fast breaks from defense to offense.
  4. Decreased reaction times: Gain a competitive edge in ground ball battles, defensive positioning, and shot reactions, enabling you to secure possession, make crucial saves, and shut down opposing attacks.

Gain the agility, speed, and explosiveness needed to rise above the competition and excel on the field this coming season.

"James is very professional and one of the most knowledgeable trainers I have come across. In a short period of time, James helped change my game and bring out the best in myself physically and mentally. I would recommend any athlete or individual as well to work with James from speed/conditioning, lifting, or just personal health!"

Keep the momentum going

I've thoroughly enjoyed working with Virginia Wesleyan university Lacrosse during fall training and want to continue the momentum we've built. I'm excited to work with you and help prepare you for your best season yet.

Over the years, I've worked with many athletes, helping them tune their reactions and performance so they can perform best when it matters most.

This 6-week program will help you get the edge you need to stay strong and ready through the holidays.

Let's keep you at your best for this coming season!

FAQ's

Who is eligible for this program?

This training program is exclusive to the Virginia Wesleyan University lacrosse team. This training will build on the work we did together during fall training.

How many athletes can participate in the program?

To ensure individual attention and appropriate room for each athlete to train, we will be limiting this program to the first 8 team members who sign up.

Who will be coaching the program?

Coach James will work directly with all participants.

When does the 6-week program take place?

The program will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm for Varsity and Junior Varsity athletes.

Select dates around the holidays will be off. The official training schedule can be found here: Official Training Schedule.

What should I bring to the training sessions?

We recommend wearing appropriate sports attire (breathable clothes, proper footwear—close-toed sneakers, etc), and bringing a water bottle. Don't wear cleats to these sessions as we'll be on a concrete gym floor. Also, you will not need to bring your baseball-specific gear. Dress like you're going to the gym.
